Approved For Release 2000/08/10 : CIA-RDP96-00791 R000200110001-4 17 Aug 1995 S G 11 MEMORANDUM FOR: Comptroller S G 11 FROM: office of Research and Development SG1 I VIA: Director of Research and Development SUBJECT: Update on ORD Response to Star Gate CDA Since our last meeting about mid-June, a number of things have happened relating to ORD's Star Gate technical review: 9 ORD held the kickoff meeting of the blue ribbon panel with the American Institutes for Research (AIR) and its commissioned reviewers (Dr. Jessica Utts, Dr. Ray Hyman, and consultant Dr. Lincoln Moses) on 25 July at AIR's facility in Palo Alto. * ORD has now completed the current customer-base interviews according to a uniform survey. The results of these, as they bear on the product utility, are now in draft. The customers interviewed included the Joint Interagency Task Force (JIATF)-East at Key West, FL, JIATF-West at SG1A Alameda, cA, US Army Counterintelliqence at Ft. Meade, SG1A * AIR has completed its personal interviews of the DIA remote viewers and the former DIA program manager. g _ ~ka,"Mas. 'A&*Q All classified documents requested by panel members and AIR have been reviewed, declassified, and provided to the panel. At this point, SG11 further declassification does not appear essential to the review. SG1PG11 - ORD provided a response through to SG1 I Irequest for information that discuss relating to the review with ABC's Barbara Walters during a recent on-camera interview, SG11 has prepared a brief draft from CIA/PAO in response to SG11 a request from ABC which has been approved by * AIR recently assured ORD that the technical review is on schedule and that the panel members are making progress toward our scheduled milestones.
