fz:@ TIPM roved For Release 2003/09/10 CIA-RDP96-00787ROO0200020050-5 mope 0 STANFORD RESEARCH INSTITUTE MENLO PARK, CALIFORNIA 94025 (415) 326-6200 May 51, 1677 SG1 I SG1 I First., I want to express my appreciation for the opportunity we had to brief your group some time back. I think it is appropriate that such a committee be cognizant of continuing developments in the psycho- energetics field. I wish to'bring to your attention some recent replications of our remote viewing work which took place in the Psychology Department., Mundelein Collegel Chicago. A completely independent group followed the protocols we established and obtained results very similar to our own. (See Enclosure 1--a second paper by Bisaha will be sent soon.) In addition to these two experiments'. they are now writing up a third which involved subjects tracking Professor Bisaha as he travelled through Eastern Europe and the Soviot Unionl also'successful. With regard to the.general development of the field, we are, of course., elated over such replications. On the other hand, it indicates the potential ease with which such talents can be developed and utilized by others., and for thi.s reason signals some concern on my part about the catch-as-catch-can aspect of U.S. programs in this area. For this reason, 1 am also enclosing a "white paper" (Enclosure 2) on what we at SRI consider a reasonable kind of effort to pursue., not specifically as a proposal but more as a think piece. If you have any comments or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me for further discussion. With best regards,, 11EP.dlt ff. E.
