13 December 1974 SG1 I MEYIMANDUM FUR: SUBJECT Change of Scope of Stanford Research Institute Perceptual Augmentation Techniques Contract 1. riollowing up on the generally favorable reaction to our recent status review from various operation groups, several specific proposals were made byl I SG1 SG1 H I 10ne such proposal is to use our battery of medica.1, psychological, and paranorm-al ability tests to help F_ SG11 characterize a proven important asset. 2. 1 carefully explained the status of our evaluation of these tests and warned that I could not guarantee the signifi- cance of the outcome from such testing. attitude was they SG1 were fully aware of the preliminary status of our evaluation of these tests but that any further characterization of this asset is of extreme importance. It is also important that the charac- terization be completed as quickly as possible. They e_xplained their reasoning in more detail and their explanation will be shared on a need to hnow basis. SG1 3. In response to this request, the cu t SRI contract G1H will be increased in scope to accomodate the request. SG1 1:uln has agreed to supply the additional unding (approx- imately 8K) needed to run the tests and compare the results with our group of subjects.
