What is the status of this effort? Does management and execution reside with DIA or AFMIC? What is STAR GATE's resource profile in'terms of funds and personel for the period FY198O-94? (S) ANSWER: Management and execution of STAR GATE resides with DIA. A staff study completed in December 1992 recommended that STAR. GATE be transferred to the AFMIC facility at Ft Detrick, Maryland. Even if this transfer occurs, management and execution will continue to be done in DIA. STAR GATE is pursuing all of the Congressionally directed objectives identified in FY 1991, FY 1992, and FY 1993;including foreign assessment, external research, and in- house investigations in anomalous phenomena, (S' --R& funding received in is on-line wt research/support objectives underway; --In-house activity, consisting of application and proficiency projects, including trend analysis and exploration of various technologies is continuing. Since FY 1980 DIA manpower devoted to STAR GATE has remained constant- During the same period other O&M and R&D dollars provided by various sources fluctuated.
