                        PSYCHIC EXPERIENCES IN THE MULTI-NATIONAL
                                   HUMAN VALUES STUDY

        Abstract. Three items on personal psychic experiences (clairvoyance, telepathy and
        contactwith thedead) wereincludedin asurveyon human valueswhich wasconductedon
        large representative samples in 13 countries in Barope and in the USA (N=i8.607). The
        percentage of persons reporting these experiences in Barope were 3401o reporting
        telepathy, 21% clairvoyance and 25% contact with the dead. Percentages for USA were
        considerably higher. Sixty percent of Americans and Italians reported some psychic
        experience andonly 24percentsof llbrwegians. Education hadnoeffect on the reporting of
        psychic experiences,whereasnationality sex, marital status, reporting positive andnegative
        affects an d several oth er variables did.
