(S) Source identified a radio intercept/radar site at the coordinates noted above. He also described the target area as hilly country with a river adjacent to the intercept/radar site. The source described the site and associated it with an airfield approximately 30 miles away (possibly west). 2. .(S) Discribing the radio intercept/radar site, the source indicated that there was a cement bunker built into the side of a hill overlooking the river. On top of the bunker there was a pole which had a perforated:-, metal plate at the very top and a three bladed "radar" beneath the perforated plate. Thesource described the three blades as being similar to a helicopter's blades and noted that these blades rotated continuously. 3. (S) Source indicated that the purpose of the radio intercept/radar site was to monitor activities or signals across the river. Source also noted that the bunker was manned by two or three men. 4. (S) The source also associated the intercept/radar site with an airfield which had been converted from civilian use to military. Source indicated that single engine jet aircraft used this airfield.
