(S) This report provides documentation of a remote viewing session conducted for training purposes to enhance a remote viewer's demonstrated ability. 2. (S) The remote viewer's impressions provide little or no target correlation. The remote viewer was uncomfort- able throughout the session. He was not confident of his efforts and stated that he thought this would be a bad session. The remote viewer was troubled by the mechanical noise of the tape recorder and other ambient room noise. The viewer used no "quiet time" before beginning the session. 3. (S) The protocol used for this session was a modifica- tion of the protocol detailed in the document, Standard Remote-Viewing Protocol (Local Targets) by Harold E. Puthoff and Russell Targ, November 1978. This session's protocol was modified in that a randomly generated preselected target was not used. In lieu of a randomly generated, preselected target the "beacon" simply chose a site which, in his opinion, was unique and identifiable. 4. (S) Following is a transcript of the viewer's impres- sions during the remote viewing session. At TAB A are drawings made by the viewer reference his impressions of the target site. At TAB B are photographs of the target site. At TAB C is a post-session interview. PAUSE #7.5: okay, #6.5 is now at the target. He's paying attention to his location . . . observing the target area. . . taking notice of the target. See if you can't hone in on him. . . and describe the area to me. PAUSE #7: Can't you set that thing on the hinges so it won't make a sound board out of the table? PAUSE I had the feeling a moment ago, I wasn't sure what it was, I'm still not. I had the sensation of looking through glass. I felt there was a glich in the glass in the lower left side. It could be dirt, it could be chipped. PAUSE +03 #7.5: Do you perceive him to be . . . Do you perceive the target to be inside or outside? PAUSE #7: 1 don't know. I saw a horizontal shape like a shaft with. . . with, not really a shaft where its shoved through something that was about five times the diameter of the shaft. And whatever that was, was about eight times as long as it was as it stands. Or if you cut the top off a cat tail so that you have the shaft tubing on each end of it. Laid in a horizontal position. . . that was the thing I saw. PAUSE Approved For Release 2000/08/07%)ILILVMEFOO788ROO0900040001-9 Approved For Release 2000/08M. Or-MCM75tBROO0900040001-9 +05 #7: it isn't working today. PAUSE I see triangles. I have the feeling of metal. Its like straps of metal put together in form a rigid structure as in bridges, towers, some (not audible) use it as trusswork. PAUSE I'm getting conflicting information. I see the trusswork extending horizontally and then as I look at it I feel as I'm looking up in the air. It could be vertical but, its horizontal. Its kind of looking at it with no reference point so I can't tell whether I'm looking up or horizontal. PAUSE +07 Well, where is he? PAUSE I had the feeling that #6.5 was looking in . . I see a little blonde girl, a little flowered dress - the background is dark, the background of it. The little'figures are light toned. #7.5: #6.5's looking at this? You say he was looking. . . . #7: 1 saw it. I have a feeling it would be to his left about thirty-fourty feet. #7.5: Are they inside or outside? #7: 1 don't know. PAUSE I'll go back to what I was talking about. I though #6.5 was looking at I think maybe posted material. I get a feeling the paper was on glass at first. Kind of a framed area. #7.5: What do you mean by posted material? #7: 1 thought it was something I was supposed to read. Its something somebody wanted me to read. Wanted people to read. And it could be 2 R[CjD['j Approved For Release 2000/08/07 : CIA-RDr-;uo-iWgMiWwgmwvjv-+vvtll-9 Approved For Release 2000/08/07 : AffilIMMEADMR000900040001-9 ULL-PAL I on a bulletin board but I had the feeling of glass. It would be my guess it was put up on glass. #7.5: Okay. #7: Like maybe he's standing outside and there's something on glass. I don't know where. PAUSE #7.5: Tell me more about this. #7: 1 just had the feeling he was standing - I am probably building this, because its coming fairly clear now - as though maybe he's stand- ing outside of the window and there's paper on the window. Pink or orangish. There's some white. I think its got writing on it. I'm not sure he's seeing the paper, I think he kind of looked past it. I see a wrapped box shape, you know, like brown wrapping paper. #7.5: Okay. #7: 1 am aware of a bunch of bananas went by a while ago. I didn't mention it because I thought maybe it would cause me to try and use it to identify (not audible). I saw the letter M. (Not audible) . . . #7.5: Okay. I want you to concentrate now solely on one thing. I want you to concentrate on the bulletins, these things on glass that you felt you were supposed to read. Concentrate solely on that. PAUSE #7: 1 1 think what I'm seeing what I'm seeing is analytical. I felt I saw big numbers, +14 bold numbers. . on one sheet. And I distinctly saw a three. It was a black three. I am getting the feel of exposed agregate. Its in a vertical plane. #7.5: That's good. What is exposed agregate? #7: Its some kind of encasement . . . PAUSE 3 d%r Approved For Release 2000/08,0. Doc's 040001-9 Approved For Release 2000/08/07 - I-IA-a rnncl ,,P-n 40001-9 #7: I'm sorry Wall or something and I kept seeing about four or five feet in front of it some kind of vertical structure with exposed agregate as well. Like that design carried over. Had a feeling that board, window, what- ever was to the left of this. PAUSE There's overhang. I'm sorry, that's probably important. It appears. . I think its brown. PAUSE Well, it sure isn't fast and furious by golly. PAUSE +17 Okay, I see linear repetition. Going away from - me at an angle. PAUSE I keep trying to get that board. I don't know what it Its gone. PAUSE #7.5: Tell me what #6.5's doing. #7: 1 think he's as bored as I am. PAUSE #7.5: What makes him be bored? What is the activity he's doing? PAUSE #7: Oh, I can't really say, its too logical. He's wishing the time would go by so he could get the hell out of there. #7.5: What's he doing? What's he . . . What activity is he participating in? What is he doing that makes him bored? I'm sorry, the reason I was hesitating, I was looking around for him. I saw an image of him in a place that I've been before, so . . . #7.5: Tell me about it. #7: No, I was with him there once and I'd rather not tell you about it. You know. I'm just flashing back to the time I went out with him on one of these trips once. That's where I saw him standing and that can't be right. PAUSE But I had the feeling that he was looking in the direction that would be Northeast. But I don't know why I said that. PAUSE +20 1 think I must be getting bored because there are all kinds of garbage flying by that do not have any connection with each other. By garbage I mean different scenes. PAUSE One of those things that's flying by is boxing gloves. They are not attached to anything. #7.5: Okay, how about drawing some of the images you had, #7. See if you can't give me some drawings here. #7: Okay. Let me sort through. Wait a minute. I just . . I just saw the word WEEK. Or something like that in a very distinct style letters. Okay. Do you have any confidence in this at all? #7: It was so weak and sporatic there. It wasn't a case of just stepping right on the scene and standing and looking around. It was weak impressions. #7.5: Okay. #7: There were all kinds of things going by. I saw a tire go by; I saw a bunch of bananas go by; a chicken drum stick go by; things that; many things that I never even touched on; I saw a spoon; many items that I didn't even know what they were at first and then they were gone. I feel that . . to get confidence, I've got to be able to stand and look at it. #7.5: Okay. So you thought this was very weak and you're not too happy with what you've got. #7: That's about the size of it. #7.5: Okay. I still have an interest in that. . a. window or bulletin board object that you had a feeling that you were supposed to look at. You have some sort of . . something displayed in window type thing or a bulletin board type thing that you're supposed to look at, okay? Seem to associate this with the target. Perhaps #6.5 was supposed to look at this thing or he was looking at this. Now . . . #7-. You want me to take a look at it, right? #7.5: Well, I don't want you to look at it, I want you to find it and then, since maybe #6.5 was looking at it, I want you to find it again, find this display thing here and stand in its position and look back out and describe what you see. PAUSE How in the hell can I be looking through the window on the inside? #7.5: That's fine. Don't, don't analyze. #7: Yes but it smacks me right in the face. PAUSE #7.5: What is it thatyou see? PAUSE #7: 1 feel . . . I think there's fabric. I think there's fabric around me. There's something long and soft and I think that its fabric. #7.5: Okay now, further away from you, out and away from this, around you close to where. . . #7: No, I don't mean on me. I mean . . its . all around me and that's completely contrary to what I felt . . . TURN OVER TAPE before. I didn't feel anything about this fabric. I #7.5: Stand at the display thing. Let's not call it a window. Stand at the thing that was the display that you'.had'to look at before that you were supposed to look at. Stand there and look way out. What's down below the overhang? #7: It feels.rather open, spacious. #7.5: Yes. Open. Spacious. PAUSE #7: 1 wish I could get to where I could see the layout (not audible). I've been trying to get up where I could see the layout - see where I am. #7.5: Well. stand by that thing that you had to look at. PAUSE You said you felt as though you were inside now. PAUSE #7: 1 can see a window again but its not the same one. I don't think. PAUSE I think we better stop. There's just too much garbage. I'm seeing electronic tubes now. (S) Post-session interviews are conducted after the completion of a session to provide the selected remote viewer with the opportunity to express himself concerning his viewing experience. 2. (S) #7 was not surprised that he had "missed" the designated target. He has no explanation for his "miss" but believes the problem in part was his lack of proper relaxation and focused concentration during the session. Again, he related that he simply felt uncomfortable during the session. 3. (S) #7 and #7.5 appear to work well together. #7.5 was enthusiastic about the session and had hoped for success.
