(S/SK/NF) 049 reported that the is currently (03 1630L Oct 90) located at 2740 S/8155 e vessel is dangerously low in the water. The seas are becoming heavier and the vessel is 'barely keeping its nose above water.' There are portions of the vessel which are missing, e.g., the integrity of the vessel is incomplete. There was a small fire (with an associated smell of ozone) which was caused by a piece of metal which was hitting against a group of curving tube shaped objects. The fire itself was small and did not spread vessel-wide. However, this fire is linked to the current condition of the vessel. The vessel can move forward but is drifting to the side, causing its course to be at an angle rather than straight ahead. The vessel will not be able to maneuver at all if the seas become any heavier. There are 7-8 individuals on board. 5.
