DIA received an ?ppropriation of $2.0 -million (R&D) in the FY 1992 GDIP budget primarily to pursue external phenomenological research. Consequently, augmentations to the existing R&D contract (MDA908-91-C-0037),with SAIC for phenomenological research, and new purchase requests for new research, are now being initiated (PR No's 330/025Z/92, 330/026Z/92). 2. It is anticipated that $1.85 million of this allocation will be for current research augmentation and for new research. The remainder ($150K) will be required by DIA/ODT to help support external basic research projects, for in-house operational research activity as directed by the FY 1992 Congressional language, and for related project support.' All of this $150K will be in the form of research support TDY and operational activity TDY. 3. Any portion of this $150K that cannot be expended during FY92 will be returned to the contract for additional research or other contractual support. 4.
