ADVANCE APPROVAL OF ADVERTISEMENTS 812 -A
AND PUBLIC NOTICES FOR HUMAN SUBJECTS
Before an advertisement is placed or a public noLice is posted for
volunteers to serve as human subjects in research at SRI, the propose@
advertisement or notice must be prepared and approved as follows:
- The copy for the proposed advertisement or notice must
include a statement that SRI acts in accordance with the
regulations of the U.S. Department of Health, Education
and Welfare for the protection of human subjects.
- The Chairman of the SRI Human Subjects Com:nittee will
review the copy and the plan for publisiiing it to verify
conformance to a currently valid approval to use human
subjects.
- The SRI General Counsel will review the copy and the plan
for publishing it. The General Counsel's approval consti-
tutes authorization to place the advertisement or to post
the public notice.
