SUBJECT: Project CENTER LANE Funding Requirements (U)
ISSUE: CENTER LANE Proposed Funding Requirement for FY85 (U)
FACTS.
1. (S/CL-3/NOFORN) The CENTER LANE total funding requirement
for FY85 is estimated at $565,000. The estimated figure was
derived using contractual a n d consultant fees f o r further
training, TDY expenses, anticipated civilian salaries, and costs
of supplies, services,. and rental f e e s The figure does not
include military salaries. A detailed breakdown is provided
below:
Training $200K
(Continuation of CR7 training)
Consultant Services 100K
Travel 165K
Civilian Salaries (3 personnel) 80K
Miscellaneous 20K
(Rental and maintenance contracts,
purchase of supplies and equipment,
etc.)
2. (S/CL-3/N0F0RN) Th e estimated f igure f o r consultant
services includes $50K for continuation of work currently being
done by SRI-International on Extremely Low Frequency (ELF)
electro-magnetic r a d i a t i o n and the "Search" Problem. Th e s e
efforts are essential f o r further development in the field and
should be considered . The add@tional $50K is planned for new
contracts f o r training and evaluation of recently assigned
personnel.
