SUBJECT: Meeting with MG Stubblebine on 6 January 1984 (U)

1. (S/CL-3/NOFORN) On 6 January 1984, LTC Buzby and
met with MG Stubblebine at his request. The Tollowing topics
were discussed:
a. MIAS briefing to the Secretary of the Army, 5 January
1984 (see memo this subject, dtd 6 Jan 84).
b. The 86-89 POM submission being prepared by this office.
The CG supported the action being taken.
C. Planned support for the "Los Alamos Project." The CG
asked to be kept informed of any progress on this project as it
was his initiative.
d. The recent MIAS contract proposal. The CG concurred
that this office should reply to MIAS and inform them that we
did not plan to fund the proposal at this time. The CG
requested that we word the reply so as not to leave a negative
impression with MIAS as we may find it prudent to fund such a
proposal in the future.
e. The 6-14 Jan "recruitment" trip to Europe. The CG
concurred with our plans on new personnel for the project.
f. Recent LTC Alexander problem concerning the debriefing
of Russel Targ. The CG stated that he was unaware that there
was a problem as he had not instructed LTC Alexander to debrief
Targ because Alexander was not a trained intelligence officer.
The CG stated that he would get with Alexander and resolve the
issue, and wrote a note to himself as a reminder.
2. (U) In reference to the MIAS Briefing to Sec Army, MG
Stubblebine requested that he be kept up to date on the
Secretary's interest in MIAS. In light of the fact that the
