MEMORANDUM FOR THE RECORD
SUBJECT: DIA Funding - FY 82
SG1J	1. On 8 December 1981, DIA COTR at SRI called me with
	the latest on FY 82 funding Jsaid he had been notified by
SG1J	Dr. Vorona that a decision @ad been made to fUnd DIA GRILL FLAME work at
	FY 81 level. The funding would continue until the human use issue and
	deletion of GRILL FLAME money by The House Appropriations Committee were
	resolved. Dr. Vorona stated this decision had been made after a meeting
	with DIA and DoD General Counsels and Comptrollers.
SG1J	2 stated the Senate-House Committee would probably meet
	1@ursday-Frlaay and the results would be:known shortly thereafter.
SG1J	3. Also during the calli brought up the Swann Training Programq
	and asked my thoughts if Mr. Swann left SRI. I told him I could not give
	him an immediate answer but would have to think about it. However, my answer
	would be based upon what was best for the Army.. I would not again agree to
	fund anything without knowing exactly what I was to get for the money.
