Irk r. Approved For Release 2000/08/07 CIA-R 0788RO01 100050003-3 (S-ORCON) REVISED STATEMENT OF WORK (U) The'overall goal of this project is the: a. Design, development, and establishment of a remote viewing training program. b. Participation of individuals from AMSAA and INSCOM in development phases of the training program. Four separate activities will be undertaken to achieve this goal: (1) Senior observers from INSCOM and AMSAA will travel to Fort Ord'. California in November 1978 to pbs~erV remo -te viewing experiments. These observers will then proceed to SKI for a one/two week period for the purpose of evaluating past data, observing experiments in progress, taking part in remote viewing experiments as a participant, and, as a monitor, conducting experiments with other personnel. Relevant data, protocols, and procedures will be made available to the observers to enable them to reach informed conclusions about the remote viewing activity and methods for conducting similar activities in a different location. They will be instructed in the techniques by the SRI --'- - --- - - i T(15%) personnel in screening volunteers or remote viewing potentia (2) The senior INSCOM observer will select potential candidates for further screening by an SRI interviewer, who will then select three INSCOM individuals, to take part in various development phases of the remote viewing training pro- gram at SRI for a period of one month each. These individuals will act as both participants and experimenters. Relevant training techniques and materials developed to date will be made available to them so that they can conduct their own experiments. (70%) (3) Dr. Ralph Kiernan, Department of Neurology, Stanford University Medical Center, will administer various tests (speech perception tests, Buschke memory tests, verbal concept attainment tests, Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, etc.) which yield information on neurophysiological and neuropsychological functioning and which may be of use in establishing profiles for good subjects. Dr. Kiernan is currently a consultant on the Radio Physics Laboratory projects on extended perception. He is involved in a long term project to attempt the identification of neurophysiological correlates of individuals possessing enhanced capabilities in the areas of interest. (10%) (4) As an adjunct to the efforts on standard remote viewing, each of the traini_p_g program participants will carry out a minimum of 250 trials with a Ten- QIQQ Nagrical Testing Facility to provide a calibration on ability to identi numeric characters by remote viewi_ng. This is a new facility under test in our lab to determine whether it can contribute to screening and/or training in the remote viewing process. The ddta will be analyzed to detect success/failure 5tr-ategie's, trends in learning ability, and so forth. The results of such analysis will be provided to the client.
