(S/CL-3/NOFORN) On 290900 September 1983, source #08 was interviewed concerning the activities of an unidentified suspect between the hours of 0700 and 0830 on 2,4 July 1983. The project 8310 sponsor had provided a photograph of the suspect (see Incl 1). 2. (S/CL-3/NOFORN) For this interview source was shown the photograph provided by sponsor and directed to focus his attention on the suspect during the appropriate time. No other identifing data was provided to source. All other information was held for use during subsequent interviews. 3. (U) A transcript of the interview was prepared (see Incl 2). 4. Source stated substantially as follows.. ~r D uring the tirile pe~riod in question the suspect was sitting in a public place at a pedestal type table. lie had an attache case and what may have been a camera in a black leather case with a shoulder strap. In the attache case was a brownish envelope, a calculator in a black leather case , and a zmall notebook -:ipproximately two inches wide by four inches long. The suspect appeared to I)e concerned about the contents of the envelope which contained a document approximately one and a half inches thick . The document may have been a study which may have had something to do with port facilities, boats, or a coastal area of a country (riot further identified). The susr.)ect was at the public place to "pass" and/or nsell" photogral-.)hs about ships and ports (not further identif ied) including "something about illegal activity" 1,-)erhaps arins shipments (not further identified).
