SUMMARY OF INFORMATION: The tat-get is a large structure. It. has a tall, narrow front, with a door and two windows. This front part is taller than the rest, of the -,tructure and has a flat Lop. The rest. of the structure is rectangular shaped with curved sides. The roof is a different color than the foundation. It makes me think of a red barn. The structure is located in a wide, open area, with trees and a lot of green vegetation. It is the only structure in a large area. The area has a European feeling, wit.h hills, and there is a river or flowing water nearby. It is warm here and I feel comfortable. I could see a female person here, with dark, medium length hair, bending over something. The purpose of this structure is to observe and see. People come here to look at Lhis structure and the view. You can see for miles and miles over a large open area. I could not see any activity at the structure, it was "just there". It also reminded me of a church, with a narrow, pointed steeple, and a lot of air in -the inside big, open area. It was used as a quarry by many architects of the middle ages and renaissance. The colosseum could hold 45,000 to 50,000 people in its eliptical shape and covered approximately 6 acres of land. In its completed form seating was in three tiers with standing room above the third tier. The three tiers were decorated with Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian columns, respectively. Above the third tier was a windowed wall. Beneath the timbered floor there was a maze of dens where animals in movable cages were kept. In addition, the arena could be flooded for sea fights and an awning could be raised to protect an audience from inclement weather. The seats were supported by a vaulted substructure. JVentilation was good and the large crowds were easily accommodated by an excellent system of staircases, entrances and exits. Originally the colosseum has a marble facing and marble seats, it was also adorned by statues. It was a place for games and the exhibition of wild, exotic -beasts- : -Usually the- animals-:.. were made to fight with one another,or with men-.@ -Most popular events were the gladiator contests, man'against man.
