           MEMOWDUM FOR THE RECORD
           SUBJECT: Space Requirements for Project GRILL FLAME
           1. At 0830 hours, 9 Oct 79, the following named individuals, attended a,
           meeting in BG Smith's office:
           BG Smith, DCG-S&P
           COL White, ADCSOPS-HUMINT.
           Mr Jennings, Special Assistant (OPS)
           LTC Watt, INSCOM GRILL FLAME Project Manager
           Mr Silvano, Chief, HSD
           2. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the physical space. requirements
           for project GRILL FLAME.
           3. COL White presented a short update to BG Smith on the status of the pro-.
           ject, including the fact that MG Rolya had been briefed on the subject matter
           and has approved our concept.
           4. LTC Watt explained that the acoustical problem related to current location
           has been so great that it has adversely affected over 30% of the training
           sessions. Further, he explained that the project has not been allotted suf-
           ficient physical space to properly carry out the assigned mission. LTC Watt
           stated that minimum space requirements are as follows.
           a. Admin/Ops Office
           b. Project Manager Office
           c. Office for Analysts
           d. Training Office
           e. Conference Area
           f. Three spearate session rooms
           g. Control Room
           5. BG Smith concurred with the proposal but was concerned that adequate space
           could not be made readily available. He presented two options:
                a. That space in the HQ Support Detachment be made available after neces-
           sary repairs are accomplished and the troops move out or

           b. That area occupied by 91st MI Bn be made available if and when the
           Bn relocates. He directed Mr. Silvano to gather 10 the facts covering these
           two options and that we should meet again during the first week of November
           and discuss where we stand and decide on appropriate action(s) at that time.
